I'm Melissa...
Hi there!
I am a creative in the Georgetown, Ky area. I am University of Cincinnati DAAP grad and a graphic designer by profession for 20+ years. It's taken me forever to call myself a photographer, but I have taken photos as long as I can remember, and now am owning that talent of mine. I have learned that I have a passion for photographing sports and theatre, and that's because those activities are what my two daughters love!
I had someone ask me just recently what my "WHY" is. I want people—particularly girls and young women—to see how incredibly talented, confident, strong, athletic and powerful they are. Too often, girls and young ladies lack confidence and self-esteem. I want them to see what I see through that lens—how amazing they are on the field, hitting the ball, making a diving play, stealing the ball on the court, making that basket; or on stage performing pouring their heart into a character. Boys and young men's sports always seem to overshadow the girls' sports. I want to help make that change. I want them to feel just as important.
Capturing these memories for these kids...showing growth from season to season...that brings me joy. Probably most of all, I love that I am able to share these photos with these talented young people and their families.
